time to feel (cancer season) ❤︎
as a cancer moon this time of year is my bread and butter, and also the bane of my existence. a lifetime of having my moon sign in the sign of the moon (the planetary body that rules emotions) has mainly taught me one thing: surrender. cancer’s symbol being the crab, and it being a water sign (water also ruling emotions) connects it to the sea. the ocean is powerful, beautiful, terrifying and violent. it holds so much that we’ll never know, because we couldn’t possibly explore all of its unimaginable depths, more foreign to us than outer space. the lesson always comes back to surrender, but that’s because the survival instinct to resist always returns with a vengeance, eventually (usually doesn’t take long for me, personally).
in dreams, the ocean is often said to represent our emotions. in my opinion, this explanation from World of Dreams describes it perfectly:
”The ocean in your dreams is like a deep, secret place inside you. It’s where all your feelings hide—love, fear, joy, and pain. This immense body of water’s ability to be both serene and stormy that echoes our own inner emotional states. You may not always think about these feelings when you’re awake. But they’re there, under the surface, moving around just like the water in a big ocean. In dreams, swimming through this water can mean you’re ready to face these hidden parts of yourself.”
